Why go? alone?

I'm a clueless post grad. I'm not saying that I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life, just that I haven't found what feels right. When I walked across the graduation stage with thousands of my peers I was grateful that I had an internship at least for the summer. Something I was fortunate. Working at Nature Roads has opened up my eyes to another avenue of agriculture. It isn't perfect there are days where I just feel like a drone, but then there is the mission and that keeps me going. I also like being outside, instead of in a desk all day. I have this job until the begining of Septempber sometime.
Then what? I know that I want to take the GRE sometime since they keep your score for 5 years. I thought taking it after the internship would be the best time since my brain might be back in school-mode.

I'm not connected to a job, school, home, or a pet. Admitting this is terrifying. People I know have 1 or more of these things and couldn't just drop out for a week to join me. Another reason that I really wanted to travel was because I haven't been on a long vacation since 2011 when we went to Cannon Beach, Oregon. It was an amazing trip and one of the reasons why I still gravitate towards the Northwest.

So I guess I'm gutsy, free spirited, and a risk takers. The thing is I don't really think I am. Sure I'm other adjectives but those are in the top 10.

How did I come to getting a one-way ticket from MDW to SEA? Well you know me there was a discount on one-way tickets to various cities in the US. I looked through the list considered Boston and Austin, among others. I finally decided Seattle. Why not Portland? I've been to Portland already. I haven't discovered all the wonders and funny stores of Portland, but Seattle was new. I haven't been to Seattle since I was very young, and at that point I couldn't: read a map or hop on a train. So Seattle it is.

I'm going to be there for an undetermined time in October. I want to be able to stay there for a long time, with money and time willing. I'm going into this trip pretty blind. I got a travel guide from the state visitors center. I also bought a guides and map to help me out.

I hope I can take the minimal amount of clothing. I bought these ingenious sheets that turn into laundry soap so I don't have to carry liquids.

So where am I going to stay?
I'm hoping to spend atleast 4-7 days in a hostel it's cheap, but there might be other people who are also traveling solo or wouldn't mind me joining them. Couch-surfing is a possibility.

______
I want to see and am looking forward to...

I want to see all the parks and museums. I'm looking forward to the whole adventure of it all.
